Call the Midwife

This moving, intimate, funny and true-to-life series, based on the best-selling memoirs of the late Jennifer Worth, tells colorful stories of midwifery and families in London’s East End in the 1950s. Jenny Lee, a young woman raised in the wealthy English countryside, has chosen to become a nurse and now, as a newly qualified midwife, has gone to work in the poorest area of the city. Attached to an order of nursing nuns at Nonnatus House, Jenny is part of a team of women who minister to expectant mothers, many of whom give birth at home in appalling conditions. The drama follows Jenny as she meets her patients and learns to love the people who live in the East End.

Cooking with Nick Stellino

Each episode opens with Nick visiting some of his favorite grocers, butchers, cheesemakers and fishmongers. While on location, he happily shares his tips and tricks for selecting the ideal ingredients and the best culinary tools for the everyday cook. After each shopping trip, Nick returns to his sparkling new set, modeled after his own home kitchen. With the home cook in mind, he prepares elegant yet easily recreated recipes — from savory soups to authentic pasta and rice dishes to delectable desserts — in step-by-step fashion. With his signature charm, warmth and humor, he also shares easy plating techniques and other professional tips to help viewers turn their homes into their favorite restaurant.

Garden Smart

A "hands in the dirt" program that provides its' viewers with practical, timely gardening advice. Produced in association with The National Gardening Association, a non profit organization whose purpose is to educate and promote gardening to young and old alike. Filmed at beautiful resorts and gardens in every region of the country, each episode provides valuable gardening tips, the latest trends "on the verge" and design advice, all with the purpose of making gardening fun and interesting. The visiting resident horticulturist and the host provide practical advice useful to a country-wide audience. Plants are tagged on-screen with growing zones where they thrive. Viewers are encouraged to contact the shows' experts and ask gardening questions via email and toll free phone lines.

Globe Trekker

GLOBE TREKKER transports viewers to unforgettable destinations through its stunning photography, rhythmic indigenous music and spirit of adventure. In each episode, one vibrant young traveler ventures off the beaten path to soak up the local culture, sample the cuisine and revel in breathtaking vistas. In keeping with their aim of "living as the locals do," charismatic hosts Ian Wright, Justine Shapiro, Zay Harding, Megan McCormick and others explore everything from big-city landmarks to exotic sights in remote villages.

Growing a Greener World

The series highlights the diverse people, organizations and events that seek to raise environmental awareness and encourage better stewardship of the planet. The program combines the expertise and engaging styles of veteran television host and nationally recognized authority on gardening and sustainability, Joe Lamp'l (a.k.a. joe gardener), with the "Most Watched Gardening Personality on the Web," Garden GirlPatti Moreno. Each episode contains one compelling feature story and one how-to segment for growing your own food, followed by a four-minute segment with chef Nathan Lyon who uses fresh-from-the-garden fruit, vegetables or herbs to create simple and delicious dishes. Lyon believes the fresher the ingredients, the better the food.

Joanne Weir’s Cooking Class

Joanne Weir, cooking teacher extraordinaire, brings her techniques, secrets, and delicious recipes to the screen. Taped entirely in Weir’s home kitchen in San Francisco, the series invites viewers to join Joanne and her real-life students as they work side-by-side in her hands-on cooking classes. Every episode includes a discussion of wines and wine pairings with Master Sommelier Andrea Robinson.

Lidia's Kitchen

Daytime Emmy-winning chef Lidia Bastianich prepares simple, seasonal and economical dishes. With tips and techniques collected over the years, Lidia prepares everything from apple cider-braised pork shoulder and salmon with mustard sauce to lentil country salad and Grandma Rosa's apple cake. Lidia's passion for cooking shines in every episode, where she teaches viewers how to draw on their own roots to create a sense of home in the kitchen.

In THE BEAUTY OF OIL PAINTING, husband-and-wife artists Gary and Kathwren Jenkins introduce viewers to the art of oil painting from their studio and gallery in Reno, Nevada. Gary and Kathwren's shared passion for teaching is evident as the couple calmly and confidently guide viewers step-by-step through the creation of a new painting. With palette in hand and clean canvas before them, the Jenkins use brilliant color, specific brush strokes and the wet-on-wet method to paint their trademark florals and portraits of creatures great and small.
