American Masters

AMERICAN MASTERS is an ongoing series of award-winning primetime specials examining the lives, works, and creative processes of our most outstanding cultural artists. Created in 1984 by Susan Lacy and produced by Thirteen/WNET for national public television, the series is both a celebration and an exploration of creativity in America. Consisting of more than 250 hours of programming to date, AMERICAN MASTERS is a growing film library documenting the role important individuals, groups, and movements have played in the formation of our cultural identity.

America's Test Kitchen

America's Test Kitchen is the most watched cooking show on public television. Host Christopher Kimball presents carefully developed recipes, solves everyday cooking problems, and tests equipment and supermarket ingredients for quality and practicality.

Antiques Roadshow

Burt Wolf: Travels & Traditions

A series of half-hour programs in which award-winning journalist Burt Wolf travels to cities around the world telling the stories of local traditions that have influenced us all. In many locations, he also shows how foreign traditions have influenced the city he is visiting. He reveals the relationship of marriage and food and the history of gaming. And, of course, he examines society and culture through eating.

Call the Midwife

This moving, intimate, funny and true-to-life series, based on the best-selling memoirs of the late Jennifer Worth, tells colorful stories of midwifery and families in London’s East End in the 1950s. Jenny Lee, a young woman raised in the wealthy English countryside, has chosen to become a nurse and now, as a newly qualified midwife, has gone to work in the poorest area of the city. Attached to an order of nursing nuns at Nonnatus House, Jenny is part of a team of women who minister to expectant mothers, many of whom give birth at home in appalling conditions. The drama follows Jenny as she meets her patients and learns to love the people who live in the East End.

Cathlyn’s Korean Kitchen

This cultural and entertaining cooking program showcases delicious, nutritious and easy to make traditional and fusion Korean cuisines. The program also explores rich, historical Korean culture with the viewers, and how Korean food has played such an important role over the centuries. Whether you’re a food connoisseur, or just looking to learn the secrets of making great Fusion recipes, Cathlyn’s Kitchen is sure to educate, entertain, and enlighten you.

Chef John Besh's New Orleans

The series pays tribute and celebrates the food he loved growing up on the bayous, refined during his years of study in the United States and Europe, and brought back to his native New Orleans, where his restaurants remain indelible parts of Louisiana's culinary scene. The program offers Big Easy classics along with contemporary dishes for a rich combination of cooking technique, food history and personal memories. Chef Besh has been on several series, including Iron Chef America, Top Chef, The Today Show, Martha Stewart and Rachael Ray. He also has received numerous top industry accolades throughout his career, most notably the James Beard Award for Best Chef of the Southeast and Food & Wine's recognition as one of the "Top 10 Best Chefs in America".

Ciao Italia

Mary Ann Esposito, host of the longest-running cooking show on public television, travels around the United States and Rome, Italy in search of recipes that can be prepared in thirty-minutes or less for a busy audience that has time to enjoy great Italian food but doesn' t always have time to prepare it "the old way."

Classic Arts Showcase

Classic Arts Showcase is designed to bring the classic arts experience to the largest audience possible by providing video clips of the arts in hopes that we may tempt you, the viewer, to go out and feast from the buffet of arts available in your community.

Cooking with Julie Taboulie

A unique Lebanese and Middle Eastern cooking show that’s the first of its kind on American public television. Each week, Julie welcomes viewers into her kitchen and shares secrets of preparing a rich repertoire of delicious, easy-to-make Lebanese and Middle Eastern recipes.

Cooking with Nick Stellino

Each episode opens with Nick visiting some of his favorite grocers, butchers, cheesemakers and fishmongers. While on location, he happily shares his tips and tricks for selecting the ideal ingredients and the best culinary tools for the everyday cook. After each shopping trip, Nick returns to his sparkling new set, modeled after his own home kitchen. Crafting at the Spotted Canary

A brand new series, and a new place to craft - on TV and online - for everything crafting, from scrapbooking, jewelry making, and kids' projects to paper crafting, needle work, and crafts in general. Each program is filled with fun and informative projects that complement everyday life. It's a way to make crafting relevant to the needs of every day. Every project is start to finish - things you can really make with the supplies you have on hand. Each show has 3 projects. Topics include: Things that organize; things to make a party festive; things that decorate a work space; things that tell a story; things for kids; things that wrap a gift: things that are green; things that hang on a door; things that help us remember; and more.

Downton Abbey

Created by Emmy-winning writer Julian Fellowes, “Downton Abbey” depicts the lives of the noble Crawley family and the staff who serve them, set at their Edwardian country house in 1912. Featuring an all-star cast, including Hugh Bonneville (MASTERPIECE CLASSIC “Miss Austen Regrets”), Emmy-winner Dame Maggie Smith (Harry Potter) and Elizabeth McGovern. Laura Linney hosts.

Garden Smart

A "hands in the dirt" program that provides its' viewers with practical, timely gardening advice. Produced in association with The National Gardening Association, a non profit organization whose purpose is to educate and promote gardening to young and old alike. Filmed at beautiful resorts and gardens in every region of the country, each episode provides valuable gardening tips, the latest trends "on the verge" and design advice, all with the purpose of making gardening fun and interesting. The visiting resident horticulturist and the host provide practical advice useful to a country-wide audience. Plants are tagged on-screen with growing zones where they thrive. Viewers are encouraged to contact the shows' experts and ask gardening questions via email and toll free phone lines.

Gary Spetz: Painting Wild Places!

With the premise of "so much to paint, so little time," artist Gary Spetz travels to six scenic locations throughout the United States - from Florida's Cabbage Key to Yellowstone National Park - to choose his subject matter. Each scene presents new painting challenges, providing Spetz with new opportunities to share his innovative painting methods. Spetz encourages viewers to undertake more complex paintings. And while challenging, each lesson is carefully designed to be "user-friendly" with Spetz's easy-to-follow, step-by-step instructions.

Globe Trekker

GLOBE TREKKER transports viewers to unforgettable destinations through its stunning photography, rhythmic indigenous music and spirit of adventure. In each episode, one vibrant young traveler ventures off the beaten path to soak up the local culture, sample the cuisine and revel in breathtaking vistas. In keeping with their aim of "living as the locals do," charismatic hosts Ian Wright, Justine Shapiro, Zay Harding, Megan McCormick and others explore everything from big-city landmarks to exotic sights in remote villages.

Growing a Greener World

The series highlights the diverse people, organizations and events that seek to raise environmental awareness and encourage better stewardship of the planet. The program combines the expertise and engaging styles of veteran television host and nationally recognized authority on gardening and sustainability, Joe Lamp'l (a.k.a. joe gardener), with the "Most Watched Gardening Personality on the Web," Garden GirlPatti Moreno. Each episode contains one compelling feature story and one how-to segment for growing your own food, followed by a four-minute segment with chef Nathan Lyon who uses fresh-from-the-garden fruit, vegetables or herbs to create simple and delicious dishes. Lyon believes the fresher the ingredients, the better the food.

Joanne Weir’s Cooking Class

Joanne Weir, cooking teacher extraordinaire, brings her techniques, secrets, and delicious recipes to the screen. Taped entirely in Weir’s home kitchen in San Francisco, the series invites viewers to join Joanne and her real-life students as they work side-by-side in her hands-on cooking classes. Every episode includes a discussion of wines and wine pairings with Master Sommelier Andrea Robinson.

Lidia's Italy in America

Join celebrity chef and restaurateur Lidia Bastianich as she embarks on another eye-opening culinary journey. LIDIA'S ITALY IN AMERICA explores the food, artisans and ingredients at the heart of Italian-American cooking. Over the course of 26-half hour episodes, Lidia traces the impact of Italian culture on American food, drink, art, music and fashion. P. Allen Smith's Garden Home

Painting with Paulson

PBS Newshour Weekend

Features a summary of the day’s national and international news, using renowned experts to provide in-depth analysis. Each weekend broadcast contains original, in-depth field reporting on topics including education, healthcare, the economy, energy, science and technology, religion, finance and the arts. Hari Sreenivasan anchors.

Scheewe Art Workshop

Host Susan Scheewe introduces the art of watercolor and shares the gratifying accomplishment of creating a piece of art. The Beauty of Oil Painting

In THE BEAUTY OF OIL PAINTING, husband-and-wife artists Gary and Kathwren Jenkins introduce viewers to the art of oil painting from their studio and gallery in Reno, Nevada. Gary and Kathwren's shared passion for teaching is evident as the couple calmly and confidently guide viewers step-by-step through the creation of a new painting. With palette in hand and clean canvas before them, the Jenkins use brilliant color, specific brush strokes and the wet-on-wet method to paint their trademark florals and portraits of creatures great and small.
